Cutaneous Horn

 

Relax! You are not  growing a permanent Horn!

 

This is a clinical term used to denote a horn like growth in the skin that is hard and usually grows rapidly.  Underneath the base of horn lies the clue for the reason for this horn formation.  Many skin tumours can cause cutaneous horn including:-

 

Seborrheic wart, viral wart, solar keratosis, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and others.

 

Treatment

 

The lesion must be removed by a skin biopsy
