FRECKLES

 

These are small brownish or blackish spots appearing on sun exposed skin.  Unlike simple lentigines these darken in sun exposure.

 

Treatment

Cryotherapy

Depigmenting agents – Hydroquinones

Laser therapy

 

Lentigines

 

These are black spots that appear on the body unrelated to sun exposure.  Importantly these need to be differentiated from moles becoming skin cancer.

treatment is as above for freckles but is usually not necessary
