Lentigines

 

These are black spots that appear on the body unrelated to sun exposure.  Importantly these need to be differentiated from moles becoming skin cancer.

 

FRECKLES

 

These are small brownish or blackish spots appearing on sun exposed skin.  Unlike simple lentigines these darken in sun exposure.

 

Treatment

none is necessary but the following may be tried

sun screens should be always used

Cryotherapy

Depigmenting agents – Hydroaunones

Laser therapy
