LYMPHOCYTOMA CUTIS

 

Other names – cutaneous lymphoplasia, pseudolymphoma, cutaneous lymphomatous hyperplasia, lymphadenosis Benigna cutis

 

Lymphocytoma cutis is a benign skin disorder which is caused by accumulation of lymphocytes due to multitude of causes.

  1. Without any rhyme or reason doctors call this type – IDIOPATHIC
  2. Tattoo dye
  3. jewellery gold
  4. insect bite
  5. infections – herpes zoster, molluscum
  6. vaccinations
  7. tick bites

 

There is a small nodule or multiple small pink or pinkish red nodules.  Usually seen on the face or chest or upper extremities.

 

Investigation

A skin biopsy is essential to rule out lymphoma.

 

Treatment

Removal of the cause if any

Topical steroids

Intralesional steroids

Cryotherapy

Radiation treatment
