NECROBIOSIS LIPOIDICA DIABETICORUM

This is seen more commonly in diabetics but not exclusively in diabetics.  On the front of legs appear yellowish plaques with prominent bright red blood vessels in a streaky pattern.  It may appear like a scar and even ulcerate.

Diabetes must be excluded by screening tests.

Treatment

Intralesional steroids or topical steroids may be used but your doctor may prefer to leave things alone if it is not causing much concern.
