Naevus sebaceous Other names -nevus sebaceous of jadossohn This is a birthmark usually seen in scalp or neck.
It usually starts as a flat patch and so is not noticed by the patient.
At adolescence it begins to grow and increase in size. The patient may then notice it due to catching on the comb. It is seen as single hairless pinkish yellow plaque warty in nature. Treatment Most doctors would advise excision (skinbiopsy)
of this as about 5-10% develop basal cell carcinoma.
However if the lesion is very large then a “wait and watch” policy
may be adopted.
