Nevus Spilus

This is a type of nevus where a flat brownish area develops, with “spotty” blackish papules interspersed giving a rather typical clinical picture.  It is usually seen in infancy or childhood.

Treatment

The lesion may be removed by a skin biopsy for cosmetic reasons.

Very rarely melanoma (skin cancer appearing in a preexisting mole may develop)
